Do you have a vehicle that you no longer want or need?  We partner with “Vehicles for Charity” at https://www.vehiclesforcharity.org to make donating your vehicle easy.  They arrange to pick up or tow your unwanted vehicle at no charge to you. Your vehicle will then be sold at auction, with a portion of the proceeds going to Park Hill UMC. Most cars, motorcycles, boats, and recreational vehicles are accepted – running or not.

 

The IRS may allow you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax return for the gross sale of your vehicle.  If the gross sale of the vehicle is greater than $500, the IRS may require you to fill out Form 8283, “Non-cash Charitable Contributions”. For more information, consult your tax advisor.

Giving a gift of appreciated stock directly to Parkhill is tax-deductible for the full market value of the stock on the date of donation, and there are no capital gains taxes to pay (a double-tax break). If your stock has risen in value since purchase, donating it directly to our securities account is preferable. We will immediately liquidate the stock and deposit the funds in our general operating account, unless otherwise designated by the giver. However, if it has lost value, it may be more advantageous for you to sell it first and then donate the profits as cash, so that you can recognize your tax loss.

When it’s time to buy groceries, you can help PHUMC at the same time!! More than 70 households have connected their King Soopers Loyalty Cards to our church. This program provided nearly $3,000 to PHUMC in 2021. The households that participate allows us to raise significantly more money for our church. Use the same King Soopers Loyalty Card that you use for discounts and fuel points. If you don’t have a card, you can easily get one at the customer service desk at King Soopers or City Market.

Refillable Safeway gift cards are available for purchase from the church and a portion of all sales are donated to the church. Email finance@phumc.org to arrange to purchase a Safeway gift card.
