The Ten Best Ways give us an insight to which laws the Israelites chose to keep or create after escaping Pharoah.  During this time without school, which rules and routines has your family chosen to keep or create?

"Getting Slavery out of the People" (Chpt. 10 in We Make the Road by Walking)

Today's reading starts with, "Most of us spend a lot of our lives trying to get out of something old and confining and into something new and free."  McLaren reminds us that with their escape from Pharoah, the Israelites were now "in need of the identity transformation that comes as we walk the road to freedom."  Even today, during this pandemic, I find myself struggling to always know what to "change" from my usual habits.  I like the idea of connecting with my family and rest, and yet I'm spending more time in front of phone/computer/tv screens than I usually do!  It's hard to create a new identity even when we're offered "freedom" from certain controls and expectations.  I pray these new days we can all truly take on healthy and soulful habits that stick long after this strange season.
