Children
Here's the story of Palm Sunday. May our children know that important people do not need to be wealthy, famous, and powerful with weapons of might. You don't need the fanciest car, biggest house, and best security. May they start to learn the power that Jesus had in a different way as he followed God's kingdom above man's kingdoms.
*Read along from 286-319, and specifically 316-9, in Whirl Kids Story Bible. You can also email tory@phumc.org if you need help following along in a different Story Bible.
Youth/Students
In many ways, Jesus was offering an alternative to the military and political marches of his day. Marches today can be a joyful support of a political candidate, or as a protest to change something in our society. May they continue to remind us that we are not alone in our hopes and dreams, and to remind the oppressors that God's ways always bring people together.

"Peace March" (Chpt. 32 in We Make the Road by Walking)
"Caesar's kingdom, the empire of Rome, rules by fear with threats of violence, demanding submission. God's kingdom, the kingdom of heaven, rules by faith with a promise of peace, inspiring joy."
May our children seize the opportunities to join together in movements that bend us all toward justice. May they know that they are never alone, and may the find leadership that makes them better, instead of leaders that make them fearful and/or content with injustice.
