This is a second telling of the Christmas story through artwork instead of figurines. If you watched the previous day's video, what do you notice about the differences? Is it possible to tell the same story in different ways? How would you tell this story if you made your own version?

Here's an 8 minute video that looks at the context of Jesus' birth. Alongside Jesus' birth is the question of the Bible and the Holy Spirit. Do you have language of how the Bible and the Spirit of God ("Holy Spirit") are similar and different? I look forward to hearing your thoughts when we eventually meet in person again!

"Sharing Gifts" (Chpt. 18 in We Make the Road by Walking
"Religions-including the Christian religion-have too often spread fear, prejudice, hate, and violence in our world. But in the Magi's offering of gifts to honor the infant Jesus, and in the Egyptians' protective hospitality for Jesus and his refugee family, we can see a better way, a way Jesus himself embodied and taught as a man. They remind us that membres of Earth's religions don't need to see their counterparts as competitors or enemies... We can be there to welcome and protect one another, as exemplified by the Egyptians." pg. 83
This feels like a '180' turn around from the Egypt of Pharoah during the time of Moses. It gives us hope that nations can change over time. May God keep changing our hearts, even if it takes people of another religion, or another country.
